Home » Eng Finance » U » Ullage

This word is used in two senses. Originally, it meant the difference between the capacity of a cask and its actual contents; in Customs terminology il is now used for the actual contents (the difference is called the vacuity). In marine insurance, the difference is still known as ‘ullage’, is not usually considered a loss and is not covered by the insurance policy.
