Soft loan

A loan bearing either no rate of interest, or an interest rate which is below the true cost of the capital lent. It is the policy of the International Bank for Recontruction and Development working through its affiliate, the International Development Association to give ‘soft’ loans to developing countries for long-term capita! projects.
