Kite mark
The symbol used by the British Standards Institution to indicate their official approval of a product being marketed. It gives the purchaser the satisfaction of knowing that the manufacturer has satisfied standards set by that institution. A manufacturer who has gained the right to use the kite mark on a product must accept the possibility of spot inspection by the B.S.I, to ascertain that the quality is being maintained.
